Highest Carded Round - Explained

Pool Administrators will determine how to handle golfers that miss the cut in the pool settings under the "Scoring" section. This setting will also apply to golfers that Withdrawl or Do Not Finish.

Highest Carded Round - Explained

Easy Office Pools provides two options for handling golfers that miss the cut, withdrawal, or do not finish:

Option 1: The player(s) receive a score of 80 for missed rounds.

Option 2: The player(s) receive the highest carded score for missed rounds.

This setting is found under the "Scoring" section in the pool setup.

Live Example from the 2019 Masters Tournament:

Let's look at the 2019 Masters as an example using Stewart Cink as our Golfer.

  • Stewart records scores of 76 & 72 for rounds 1 & 2.

  • He is then given the highest carded score for R3 (76 from Charles Howell III)

  • His R4 Score will be the highest score recorded for that round. (80 from J.B. Holmes)

The end result for Stewart Cink in the 2019 Masters using the "highest carded round" option for players that miss the cut would be as follows:

  • Round 1 - 76 (+4)
  • Round 2 - 72 (E)
  • Round 3 - 76 (+4)
  • Round 4 - 80 (+8)
  • Tournament Total: 304 (+16)

*Note:  When using Option 2 (Cut Golfers Get 80) that miss the cut, withdrawal, or do not. In this case, Stewarts scores would be as follows:

  • Round 1 - 76 (+4)
  • Round 2 - 72 (E)
  • Round 3 - 80 (+8)
  • Round 4 - 80 (+8)
  • Tournament Total: 308 (+20)
