How Do Golf Pool Odds Work? When Are They Updated and From Where?

You can use golfer odds to win the tournament as a way to setup your online picksheet for your golf pool.

How Do Golf Pool Odds Work? 

For golf pools that use an online picksheet, your picksheet will be split up into tiers with groupings of golfers that have similar odds to win the tournament. 

When Are Odds Updated And From Where?

• Pools by odds will typically be available the Monday prior to the tournament around 9am CST. 
  • Major tournaments & Players Championship pools could have odds available as soon two Tuesdays prior to the tournament. As soon as we are able to source or derive odds for the majority of the golfers in the field the tiers by odds will become available.
• Sought after odds sources include BetMGM.com, DraftKings.com, Fanduel.com, bet365.com, Golfodds.com, and other credible online sources. 
• Odds will update once with the opening odds found for the tournament for most tournaments.
  • For majors and the Players Championship, odds will typically update only twice. Initially when pools become available, and then again the following Monday morning of tournament week. 
• Odds used to create your picksheet are based on the snapshot of what they were at the time your picksheet was created. 
• Once your picksheet is saved using odds, the golfer tiers will be locked and remain the same (unless you specifically change the groupings as the admin). This will ensure fairness and with everyone picking from the same tiers of golfers.   
  • When people are picking their teams, if odds have changed since you created your pool, entrants may see different odds listed on your pool entry form as compared to the odds initially used to create the picksheet groupings.
• It is possible that the odds used for your picksheet won't match what you find on other online sources for the following reasons: 
  • Odds fluctuate frequently leading up to the start of each tournament
  • Each sportsbook could set their own odds that will be different when compared to other sportsbooks
• If necessary, Easy Office Pools will fill in odds for a golfer when no online source is available.
• If late qualifying golfers are added to the field, their odds will be updated when they are added 
• If a golfer withdraws, their odds will be erased

How To Setup Your Picksheet With Odds

1. Go to Create Pool page 
2. Choose your setup for odds:
   1. Most Popular Pick 6 
   2. Custom Setup -> Picksheet: Tiers by Odds
3. Fill in the rest of the create pool inputs 
4. Click Create Pool
